Sitka Sportsman’s Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit club incorporated in 1956 for the purpose of establishing, promoting, protecting and encouraging recreation facilities and educational opportunities in the Sitka area, and to participate with state and federal agencies and other sportsman’s groups to promote continued sound management of fish and game resources. It is our further purpose to forward the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play, and self-reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism.

To achieve its goals, Sitka Sportsman’s Association offers many activities, including but not limited to those listed below. Additional activities could be offered if interest exist and volunteers could be recruited and trained to serve as range masters and instructors.
Youth competitive shooting in Alaska Scholastic Clay Target Program
Classroom and grounds for hosting educational courses provided by agencies and other trained instructors for youth and adults, such as basic hunter, marksmanship, gun safety, concealed carry permit, black powder, archery, women’s self protection
Advocacy and support of community sporting activities such as City-operated Tony Hrebar Outdoor Rifle Range, Ducks Unlimited, 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth sports teams, Sea Mountain Golf, Friends of NRA Alaska Outdoor Council, Sitka Convention and Visitors Bureau
